[Email to SHPE Puget Sound Members, from Anna Servin]

YUPSMentor 2015:

Good morning SHPE PSC,

I hope this message finds you well!

My name is Anna Servin and I am the Volunteer Specialist at Year Up Puget Sound. We are a nonprofit organization that works with young adults that have been disconnected from the economic mainstream, providing them with education, job training and a 6 month internship with our corporate partners.

One aspect of a Year Up student’s journey is being paired with a professional mentor that supports them while they learn to navigate the professional landscape. Year Up mentors come from all walks of life and have various professional backgrounds. However, I am working to recruit more mentors that reflect how diverse our students are.

I’m writing to you today to ask if becoming a Year Up mentor is an opportunity that members of your group would be interested in.

The time commitment is flexible and mentoring is a great way to get involved and have an impact on the professional youth in Seattle.

If you would like to learn more, I would be happy to find time to come present to your group or schedule time chat one on one.

I’ve attached some more information about our program and the volunteer opportunities that we offer as well.

Please feel free to call my work phone number below if you have questions.

Thank you for your time and I hope that we can get (BLANK) excited about Year Up mentoring.

Sincerely,

Anna Servin
Volunteer Specialist
